Educational Support

Education is one of the most powerful tools for social mobility and long-term transformation — but for many vulnerable children in Moldova, it remains out of reach. Although public education is officially free, the hidden costs of schooling — backpacks, supplies, uniforms, and shoes — create real barriers for families already struggling to survive.

At The Moldova Project, we believe that no child should be excluded from learning because of poverty. That’s why our Educational Support Program focuses on removing these obstacles, ensuring that children from low-income families can begin and continue school with dignity and confidence.

Every year, we prepare hundreds of children to start the school year equipped with:

  • Backpacks, stationery, and school supplies
  • Seasonal clothing and proper footwear
  • Additional support for children at risk of school dropout

But education doesn’t stop at the classroom door. For many teenagers, finishing local school is only the beginning of a more complex challenge — pursuing vocational training, secondary education, or even higher studies. These opportunities often require transportation, accommodation, enrollment fees, and a strong emotional support system — all of which are often unavailable to vulnerable youth.

That’s why we also support adolescents who want to continue their studies beyond their village schools by:

  • Covering transportation, dormitory, or meal costs
  • Helping with admission procedures or documents
  • Providing guidance, mentorship, and emotional encouragement to help them stay motivated
  • Collaborating with vocational centers and educational institutions to build inclusive pathways

By supporting their educational journeys beyond basic schooling, we give teenagers the chance to build real futures — not just survive, but thrive.
